Shutting down your computer
Close all windows you have open.
Click the Start button, select Shutdown
(Turn Off Computer in XP).
A dialog box will come up that will let you choose Shut Down or Restart or Restart in MS-DOS. Click on your choice and click on OK
Eventually the computer will either turn off or display a message saying it is safe to turn it off.
